I use them both. I like the C-map ( Insight genesis) for most inland bodies of water and the Navionics is much better on the great lakes. So for your application I'd recommend the Navionics. But i think there are definite benefits of running both. Plus you can grab the C-map chip for under 40 dollars on the bay so it's kinda of a no brainer.
